Through our Technical and Training Team, the PWI works very closely with education providers across the UK to facilitate world-class learning in the field of rail engineering. We are currently working with a number of universities, colleges and training academies, collaborating with faculty and programme directors to support the development and delivery of rail-focussed engineering programmes. We also partner with career and alumni teams, providing sector-specific employability advice to support students and apprentices as they move into industry.
We assist faculty and programme directors with the production of course content, ensuring it is both relevant and reflective of industry good practice, so that learning outcomes have a direct positive impact on our industry.
Students and apprentices can access our extensive technical network, including support from our local Sections. As they finish their studies, our community provides familiarity and assurance in the workplace.
We attend career fairs and talks when possible, engaging with students and apprentices to help them increase their employability, identify and pursue job opportunities, and enter industry with confidence.
