PWI - Section Secretary Role. Nottingham & Derby Section

The PWI is a highly respected professional organisation within the rail industry and this role offers an excellent opportunity to learn new skills and raise professional profile.  It requires working closely with respected fellow Rail Professionals at all levels and will develop organisational, influencing and communication skills. 

The main aspects of the role are:

  • Project manage delivery of a high quality technical meeting programme – making venue bookings and liaising with speakers for each talk
  • Lead contact with section members and maintain membership list – send out newsletters prior to each meeting (usually 8 per year)
  • Support section Chair e.g. committee meetings: capture and distribute minutes (around 4 per year)
  • Participate in two national Section Secretary’s meetings each year – Networking with PWI Directors and other Section Secretaries etc during an overnight stay prior to each meeting
  • There is a modest annual honorarium payment associated with the role and reasonable expenses will be reimbursed
  • Mentoring can be made available
  • Commitment sought for at least 2 years
