The Permanent Way Institution is a professional engineering institution for the rail infrastructure engineering industry. It is dynamic and fast-moving, providing services to over 3000 members. We are  looking for a creative, results orientated marketing manager.

As Marketing Manager your principal focus will be to increase retention and recruitment in all categories of membership, manage all external and internal communications and  develop and deliver the digital marketing strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the marketing strategy for the PWI, including use of social media, in line with PWI’s objectives
  • Have overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
  • Work closely with senior managers to drive continuous improvement in the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and particularly in website usability and content
  • Plan and manage promotional campaigns for PWI’s products and services, including use of digital marketing
  • Plan and manage the PWI’s presence at trade shows
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of the PWI’s marketing activities

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar marketing role
  • Ideally a degree in marketing, business administration or communications or CIM
  • Strong and confident communicator
  • Excellent copywriting skills and experience
  • Familiarity with online content marketing and social media development strategies
  • Familiarity with inbound marketing an advantage
  • Ideally proficiency with Campaign Monitor and Survey Monkey, although not essential
  • Ideally knowledge of the membership sector
