Hello Andrew,

Have you inherited the steelwork for complete turnouts?

If so, let us know the turnout size/type (e.g. CV9.25 flatbottom, B8 bullhead, etc.), then it should be possible to provide you with the appropriate REPW drawing that details the turnout assembly and components, including timber sizes.

Hello Andrew

For S&C hardwood timbers cross section is 305mm x 127mm (or 152mm if softwood). They come in lengths from 2450mm increasing in 150mm increments, e.g. 2600, 2650, 2800 etc. Buy the length shown on the RE/PW drawings Alan refers to to save time and money i.e. no chainsaw on site mean no wasted off cuts. If you can use 2nd hand bearers you will get a good price. Balfour Beatty can supply and advice follow link below. (Declaration of interest, I work for BB!)
