Permanent Way Manager - Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway
Closing date: 10 July 2020
Apply here: See below
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is a volunteer-operated heritage railway running between Cheltenham Race Course and Broadway stations. Whilst we are temporarily dormant under Covid 19 rules, we are seeking applications for the post of Permanent Way Manager to oversee the maintenance of our 15 miles of track. We are already blessed with an excellent team of volunteers, charge hands and a highly qualified track engineer; what we are now seeking is an experienced manager with knowledge of relevant processes and procedures to lead, plan and prioritise our track maintenance. Good communication and planning skills are essential.
We believe this role would ideally suit a retired track supervisor with a background in Network Rail or the heritage railway environment, and who would like to be part of a successful tourist attraction in the Cotswolds. The post will be nominally based at Winchcombe though some of the duties could be performed from home. It will be part-time, with hours to be agreed. Ideally we seek a volunteer (we have 950 enthusiastic volunteers and just 6 paid staff).
The full job description is available on request. If you are interested and seek further information, or simply wish to discuss the post, please contact Ian Stewart in the first instance through 01242 464962 or at email@example.com
