You will lead and advise the Technical Support team to achieve our track repair, maintenance and renewal objectives to help meet our key performance measures. You'll also build the engagement and development strategy for your team, ensuring staff safety, surveillance and quality of work as well as their careers.
A key part of this role will be to monitor asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency. You will provide technical mentorship, support and undertake survey and design work, managing the assurance and non-compliance process. Your experience will enable you to undertake technical inspections and investigations, providing requirements to arrange track monitoring and receive outputs. You'll also have the chance to develop as an engineer by reviewing and approving our method statements and designs for work activities. From time to time you will deputise for the Track Maintenance Engineer, giving you extra opportunities to learn and progress.
Do you have…?
- Meaningful technical experience
- Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes and operational railway processes
- Detailed knowledge of rail standards and procedures
- Someone who leads by example and is willing to challenge attitudes and behaviours, particularly when it comes to safety

We follow a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: Band 4C; £40,107 - £45,120. Closing date: 4 October 2020. Network Rail retain the right to close the advert early, depending on application volumes.
