A strategic partnership designed to benefit the rail infrastructure industry.
We welcome corporate members from all sectors of the rail industry including Heritage Railways (see below). Corporate members will be fully involved in the development of the PWI, ensuring that its products and services meet the needs of the rail industry for technical expertise.
They will benefit from the following:
Seminars A percentage of places at PWI seminars are sponsored by our corporate members. Corporate members will be able to allocate people to these places with no further charge from the PWI. The PWI normally runs 6-8 seminars a year. The industry has welcomed the detailed technical content of our seminars which meet a real need for sharing knowledge and enhancing professional development in the industry.
Networking The quarterly technical board meetings present a unique opportunity to discuss issues and challenges that face the whole industry. London Underground and Network Rail were the first corporate members on the Technical Board, which is chaired by the PWI’s Technical Director. Since then we have been very pleased to welcome more industry partners at each meeting. The synergies of this Board are invaluable and present a real benefit to all those involved. Corporate members can also benefit from tailored briefings, improving their connections within the industry and the PWI.
Technical assurance Corporate members’ support of the PWI’s professional registration initiative for infrastructure engineers will improve technical assurance in the industry. Registration is available at all levels, with a particular focus on Engineering Technician and Incorporated Engineer. This is where the gap is greatest in the rail industry and where the PWI can offer greatest support.
The Journal Corporate members will receive a number of free copies of The Journal for their internal use and will benefit from preferential advertising rates.
Company profiles Corporate members will be promoted in the corporate members profile page on the website. We welcome members from heritage rail organisations who will benefit from access to the knowledge and support available within the mainline, metro and light rail communities.
